Item description

Italian Parchment Bar Cabinet by Dassi style Gio Ponti, 1940 This bar cabinet is in very good conditions of the period as the images show, and is one of the masterpieces of Vittorio Dassi most likely designed with the collaboration of Gio Ponti. It's entirely finished in parchment and enriched frontally by a painting in the style typical of 20th century Italian artists such as Massimo Campigli. Underneath there are 4 drawers, finished with details made of precious Pakistan onyx, as well as is made the marble on the top. Opening the two doors, automatically switched on the lighting system, revealing in all its splendor the extraordinary internal bar compartment, highlighted by the purple colored glass placed on the back, decorated with geometric patterns in gold color. Precisely these last are the very typical elements that would like attributing this item to the design of Gio Ponti and, in collaboration with Vittorio Dassi, its completion as cabinet maker. There are many examples of other 'four-handed' designed items, in which these two important figures of the Italian Design have been involved, but there are few possibilities to obtain their attributions certified as Gio Ponti design. This object will be shipped from Italy.
