Item description
Beautiful roll-up desk of Piedmontese manifacture and in Louis XVI style and epoch, late 18th century. Particular and rare size, with legs and uprights with grooves that make it very elegant. Composed in the lower part by 2 large drawers, both with central bronze vents, which surround the entrance of the two beautiful locks, original, but certainly older than the furniture itself. In the upper part, there is a roller flap that disappears by pulling the top which, extending, offers a good desktop with the still the original leather; the mechanism is working. The interior consists of 4 small drawers (two on each side) with a door in the middle that creates an additional compartment, kept closed by a small latch which, like the two maps, although original, is older (like the locks of the 2 drawers of the lower part) denoting, as often happened, use of older hardware at the time of construction. The state of conservation is excellent, with the original patina in the all furniture. Measures difficult to find in the 18th century.
