Item description
A rare and elegant late 18th century Genoese writing table. The table top, with a peculiar "Bean" shape, is covered in the centre with a black leather surrounded by a walnut slab band divided by an inlaid fillet. All around is a border that is one with the slabelled band, which, at the front, opens to form a drawer with maple fillets and green ebonized wood; drawer with walnut interior, gilt bronze spout, original lock and key. The two openwork legs are made of solid walnut and have maple and green ebonized wood "tagliatella" inlay fillets on both the inside and the outside, as well as the low connecting crossbeam. The state of preservation is excellent, the structure is sound and firm, the polishing has been done by "wick", the leather has just been restored, the lock is functional. The original "butterfly" nailing is still present.
