Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting the religious subject Christ carrying the cross, by an excellent painterly hand. Non-coeval wood and plaster frame finely chiselled and gilded with beautiful decoration. A painting of great size and impact, ideal for inclusion in a salon or study, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of antique sacred art. Painting that has undergone an intense conservative restoration, re-tinting and colour recovery (see photo). Work of great pictorial intensity, in good condition. Light painting H 103 x W 83,5 cm.
