Bonacina, Margherita Armchair, Franco Albini 1950. Armchair in rush and Malacca. Just after the war, Franco Albini experimented with the use of simple, low-cost materials, such as thin, elastic wicker. Margherita is the first legless armchair of Italian design. Margherita is made with a structure composed of 60 reeds of Indian rush and 4 Malacca crossbows. This creation by Franco Albini/Bonacina, won the Gold Medal at the Ninth Milan Triennale and is exhibited at the MOMA in New York, the Museum of Art in Philadelphia, the Design Museum of the Milan Triennale and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Flaws: 2 flaws in the upper left corner of the photo, broken and missing clamp, the structure is solid and sturdy. Shipping and customs charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
