Item description
Antique oil painting on canvas depicting a neoclassical scene. The work is rich in iconographic inventions and tones with full-bodied and bright colours, with very precious effects. The foreground features a half-naked woman covered only by a red veil while breastfeeding a small child. With her left hand she tries to grab a small angel by the wings in an attempt to approach and kiss her. Completing the scene is a third putto resting on her left leg. The style is the artist's most felicitous, with broad planes of intense colour, complex spatial relationships, overabundant drapery and serene atmospheres, accompanied by a refined taste for detail. Measurements: 210x155cm. Provenance: 17th century Tuscany. Document: Certificate of Authenticity.
