Teakwood sideboard with secretaire by Vittorio Dassi, 1950s

Teakwood sideboard with secretaire by Vittorio Dassi, 1950s 1

Item description

Splendid sideboard made of a beautiful material such as warm teak wood, finished with brass details, whose uniqueness lies in the presence of a flap door on the right side, making it available as a secretaire. Its doors and drawers offer plenty of storage space, making it a versatile item that can be used in any decor, whether for home or office. It is a rare piece and would make a great addition to any modern décor. It is in very good condition for its age, with slight signs of wear consistent with age and use, ready for use. All the objects designed and produced by Vittorio Dassi are always elegant and charming, and to his work must be added this great sales success of the teak wood collection, so well conceived and designed with the collaboration of Edmondo Palutari, one of the main in-house designers at Dassi Mobili Moderni. This furniture line has been instrumental in establishing DMM (Dassi Mobili Moderni) as one of the best known and most innovative Italian brands on the interior design market since the 1950s. However, we should remember that Vittorio Dassi had a privileged relationship for many years with Gio Ponti, whom DMM relied on as its main cabinetmaker for important projects. One example above all was the furniture for the Hotel Royal in Naples. Articles or parts of the same design line are illustrated in: - Irene de Guttry and Maria Paola Maino, "Il mobile italiano degli anni Quaranta e Cinquanta" (Editori Laterza 1992), p.151 E/o: - "La Rivista dell'Arredamento" - March 1959 - "La Rivista dell'Arredamento" - April 1959.
