Ancient Italian painting from the 18th century. Oil on canvas painting depicting The Paradise, a portion of the famous dome of the Basilica Sant'Andrea della Valle in Rome painted by Giovanni Lanfranco (1582-1647). Fine quality painting depicting Adam and Eve, Methuselah, St. John the Evangelist with angels and saints. Beautifully sized and attractively decorated painting adorned with a carved, chiselled and gilded wooden frame complete with painted wooden passe-partout (see photo). Painting of fabulous decoration and great dynamism characterised by vivid colours. Work that has undergone conservative restoration, re-staining, replacement of the frame and repainting in places (see photo). In good condition. Light painting H 72 x W 96 cm.
