Impression on paper by Cornelis Dusart, '700

Inside a rustic house characterized by a large fireplace in the background and some utensils we see three characters. In the foreground, a woman sitting on her chair has taken off the stocking and the clog of her right foot. An elderly woman kneeling and wearing glasses, with a funnel on her head, fumbles on her foot in the light of a lamp. She is applying a suction cup on the young woman's foot causing pain as you can see her face contracting into a grimace. Behind them a fat man with a strange cylinder on his head watches the scene while he sharpens a small sharp iron. Lower left engraved signature and date: Corn. du Sart fe. et inv. 1695. In the lower white margin the title: Kopster and a couplet on two columns signed A.B. Excellent impression, with intense blacks. Excellent condition, traces of old assembly on the reverse. Specimen trimmed inside the stop.
