Pair of exceptional wooden bedside tables designed by Claudio Salocchi and produced by Sormani in the 1960s, Italy. In excellent condition. Dimensions: W 50 cm, D 37 cm, H 57 cm. Claudio Salocchi (Milan 1934 - 2012) was an internationally renowned designer and architect, he is known in the field of industrial design for designing pieces aimed at optimising domestic and working space, in particular containers and tables characterised by innovative materials and techniques. In the 1960s, Salocchi established a 20-year creative partnership with Luigi Sormani (1923 - 2017), a designer and entrepreneur who founded the design company of the same name in 1961, specialising in Space Age furniture and high-tech materials. The collaboration resulted in iconic collections such as the Amina series, the Distico table, the Paione sofa or the Vivalda and Vivaldina armchair series. Salocchi was vice-president of ADI-Associazione per il Disegno Industriale and in 1979 he was awarded the Compasso d'Oro for Metrosistema, a kitchen for homes and communities created for Alberti Arredamenti Cucine.
