Item description
Bastiano three-seater blue bouclè sofa designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Gavina in the 1960s. Wooden frame with leather upholstery. Afra & Tobia Scarpa designed the Bastiano series for the experimental design workshop Gavina in the 1960s. About the result Gavina said that they "exploited Le Corbusier's idea of free cushions to make a modern sofa", this time in wood. The sofa is very comfortable because it has thick cushions that fall into the structure. The frame thus functions as a basket that holds the thick, comfortable cushions together. Very good condition, wear consistent with age and use. Dimensions: W 212 x D 76 x H 70 cm, seat H 35 cm.
