Refined service of four bowls in white porcelain with an enamel base, in a truncated cone shape with a gold rim, belonging to the tradition of the green family (falangcai / fencai) with polychrome decoration with overlapping enamels. The bowls have uniform dimensions and consistent decoration, confirming their origin as a coordinated service. The outer wall of each bowl is decorated with a scene of a female figure in the garden — the so-called “court beauties” (meiren) — portrayed among plant elements such as flowering pomegranate branches, orange peonies and green foliage, in an airy spring landscape on a white background. The figures wear traditional clothing with delicate shades of green, blue and orange. Next to the pictorial scenes appear inscriptions in Chinese characters in calligraphic style, with a red seal, of poetic or auspicious content — a detail that gives the bowls a cultured and refined character, typical of ceramic production intended for the literary elite. The inside of each bowl features a floral motif in the center with pomegranate branches — a symbol of fertility and abundance — delicately painted on a milky white background. The foot is enameled in turquoise, a characteristic color of some valuable Chinese productions of the 20th century. On the external background, further calligraphic inscriptions with seals are visible, probably attributable to the author or the manufacturer. The inscription visible in the detailed image shows legible characters as a reference to the Guangxu period (光緒) with an indication of provenance from Jiangxi province (江西) and the signature of the creator Zhang Zhichang (張志昌) — elements that place the production or its inspiring model in the academic tradition of Jingdezhen. Shelf life: Good for all four bowls; minor signs of use consistent with the era.
