Wood: Made entirely of flamed mahogany (acajou flammé), the furniture boasts a rich and vibrant grain, with butterfly or book motifs that create a notable visual impact (visible in particular on the facade and inside the room).
The deep and warm color of mahogany is enhanced by a pad polish which underlines its preciousness.
Structure: The solid structure is rectangular in shape, topped with an elegant black Belgian marble top, which adds a touch of refinement and practicality.
Gilded Bronzes: The gilded bronze details are essential and refined, in line with the aesthetic canons of the Empire. They include:
Side Columns: Two imposing smooth solid columns flank the structure, resting on plinth feet of circular section.
Capitals and Bases: The columns are enriched in the upper and lower part by finely chiseled bronze capitals and bases with classical rosette and braid motifs, recalling classical architecture.
Interior : The large flap, once opened, acts as a spacious writing surface, covered in leather .
The interior reveals a cleverly organized room, with a central shelf and a series of small mahogany drawers that offer space for stationery and documents. There are two secrets.
Functional Configuration:
Upper Part: Features a large vertical flap panel (abattànt) that opens to reveal the writing area and the equipped interior.
Bottom: Under the flap, the cabinet is complemented by a series of three full-width drawers, offering additional space.

Conditions:
The furniture is in excellent general condition, in line with age and use . Mahogany has developed a beautiful patina over time. The bronzes are well preserved. Buffer polishing.
