Desk by Gianfranco Frattini for Cantieri Carugati
Very rare writing desk from the late 1950s.
In veneered walnut wood.
Designed by Gianfranco Frattini and Franco Bettonica.
Gianfranco Frattini was an architect and designer from Padua.
After graduating in architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan, he worked for his mentor and teacher Gio Ponti until opening his own studio.
In 1954 he began his collaboration with Cesare Cassina which was followed by numerous collaborations with the great design producers.
Cantieri Carugati was founded in Cantù in 1945 where Carlo Carugati dealt with the sale of wood.
The desk is in good conservative condition, without structural defects but with slight and obvious signs of aging visible in the photos.
