Item description

Ico Parisi swivel office chair for Mim Roma from the 1960s. Product in excellent condition, normal wear and tear over the years and use, with original upholstery in good condition as evident in the photos. Model with the typical and original wheels. Ico Parisi A pupil of Giuseppe Terragni, Ico Parisi (1916-1996) is known for being one of the main authors of the Italian furnishing style of the 1950s. A multifaceted spirit who conceived of design as part of a whole with art and architecture, starting in 1947 he began to sign his production together with his wife Luisa in the La Ruota studio in Como. Among the couple's most emblematic furnishings, the tables with aerodynamic lines stand out, with X- or Y-shaped legs culminating in brass awls, already very modern for the time and back in fashion in contemporary furnishings. From the egg-shaped armchairs for Cassina to the furniture for Stildomus, their works embrace different fields, characterized by an elegant plasticity that also attracted the attention of the American company Singer and Son of New York, the first, in the 1950s, to export Parisian furniture abroad.
