Falkland suspension lamp by Bruno Munari for Danese, 1960s
Falkland is a suspension lamp designed by Bruno Munari in 1964 for the Milan-based company Danese. Its shape is created by the tension of a filanca tube and the weight of several metal rings: it is a spontaneous shape, generated solely by the tension of the internal forces that compose it. Seven metal rings of different diameters, a fabric tube, a single light bulb, and an aluminum reflector that follows the shape of the fabric's curves.
