Incredible and rare lounge chair with high backrest designed by the famous Milanese architect and designer Paolo Buffa in 1946 and produced by the prestigious Marelli & Colico factory in Cantù in 1948.
This masterpiece represents a sophisticated Italian modernist reinterpretation of the classic English Windsor style. The structure is entirely made of highly prized solid Brazilian rosewood, characterized by a dark flamed grain of exceptional beauty and shine.
The design stands out for the slender tapered backrest formed by thin vertical slats, culminating in a shaped cymatium with elegant curled volutes carved on the sides. The sinuous armrests and the shapely legs connected by crosspieces combine the rigorous cleanliness of modernism with the grace of neoclassicism.
