This splendid and elegant piece of furniture is a centerpiece dressing table, characterized by a refined geometric herringbone and lozenge inlay work that entirely covers the top and the wavy sides. The piece of furniture has a moving and sinuous line with slender "cabriole" legs, typical of the Louis XV (Rococo) style, reinterpreted with great skill and formal precision. Lifting the upper shelf reveals an integrated mirror supported by an engraved brass mechanism, while the internal part conceals a storage compartment and a practical central pull divided into compartments to hold small objects or cosmetics. From a historical point of view, the object can be attributed to the second half of the 19th century (approximately between 1860 and 1880), an era characterized by great eclecticism and the revival of historical French styles during the Second Empire, probably of French or northern Italian manufacture.
It shows some signs of aging such as the one on the mirror which however do not compromise the beauty of the piece.
