Item description

Antique Louis XV (or Transition/Eclectic Louis XVI) style bedside table, featuring a slender frame with curved legs and fine finishes. French red marble top. Crafted with fine wood veneer (probably walnut) arranged in a herringbone/quartet pattern ("quattrofoglie" or radial geometric motif) on the sides and front of the door. It also features geometric inlaid fillets along the edges and Greek key motifs at the corners of the frames. There are decorative gilded or burnished bronze applications (applied bronzes) on the upper portion of the front uprights, depicting classically styled festooned and plant motifs. Decorative metal sabots on the front feet. The interior is lined with green cloth. Condition is good, with a few veneer fragments missing here and there.
