Item description

Originally designed by Marcel Breuer and catalogued as model B 12, this elegant Bauhaus side table stands as a hallmark of rational design. Manufactured in the 1930s by Mücke & Melder under license from Thonet, this Czechoslovak production reflects Breuer’s belief in clarity of form, industrial precision, and material economy. The table features a clean chrome-plated tubular steel frame, forming a perfect closed loop that cradles two wooden tiers — ideal for use as a side, console, or occasional table. The wooden elements have been fully restored with a sleek high-gloss finish, while the steel structure has been carefully cleaned and polished, revealing its original brilliance. In excellent condition, this B 12 model is more than a piece of furniture — it is a statement in structure and restraint, embodying the Bauhaus ideal where function becomes form. Perfect as a side or accent table in Bauhaus-inspired spaces, modernist interiors, or refined office and gallery settings.
