Beautiful vintage armchair produced by TON in former Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. The chair features an elegant Mid-Century Modern silhouette, with characteristic bentwood armrests and a beautifully shaped upholstered seat and backrest. One of the most attractive features of this piece is its original red upholstery, which has survived in very good condition. Finding vintage seating of this age with its original fabric still preserved and free from significant damage is increasingly rare. For this reason, we chose to retain the original upholstery rather than replace it, preserving the chair’s authentic appearance, character and original 1960s design. The fabric has been professionally cleaned and remains in very good original condition, with only minor signs of age and use. There is some discoloration visible on the back of the chair, consistent with its age, but no major damage to the upholstery. The wooden elements have been partially restored while retaining their original character and patina.A beautiful and well-preserved example of 1960s Czechoslovak furniture design, combining TON’s renowned bentwood craftsmanship with the charm and authenticity of its original upholstery.
