Item description

Color lithograph. Signed in pencil lower right; serial number 5/125 lower left. Appel was a founder of the CoBrA group, a European avant-garde movement active between 1948 and 1951, which promoted a spontaneous and primitive art inspired by children's art and popular culture. Appel's style is characterized by its immediate expressiveness and bold use of color. This work is presented in a frame.
