Item description

The painting depicts a suggestive urban glimpse, probably of an Italian village. A paved road opens in a central perspective, skirted by houses with warm tones and a wall surrounded by the shade. In the background there is a tower, while the cloudy sky creates a melancholy and intimate atmosphere. A solitary figure travels the way, adding a touch of humanity and depth to the scene. The brush stroke is full -bodied and vibrant, typical of the artist's style, with a wise use of the light that filters among the buildings and is reflected on the pavement. Lombard painter, Lietti (1910-1994) is known for his urban and rural landscapes, characterized by a strong atmospheric sense and a material rendering of light. Student and friend of artists from the Milanese panorama, he exhibited in numerous collective and personal, becoming appreciated for the ability to grasp picturesque glimpses and suggestions of everyday life. His works are now sought by collectors and lovers of Italian twentieth century painting.
