Mixed media on canvas. Signed and dated lower left. Accompanied by a photo certificate. The work was exhibited at the 1930-1976 retrospective exhibition dedicated to Cagli, held at the Pinacoteca Civica in Asti. This celebrated abstract work by the Italian painter and set designer Corrado Cagli is characterized by an intense color scheme (from red to purple), linear graphic effects, and almost hieroglyphic symbols, evoking the torment and suffering typical of his themes related to the experience of concentration camps. It reflects his unique style, somewhere between abstraction and figuration. The work is presented in an adapted early 20th-century frame.
