Acrylic colors on fabric and wood 2008 - H 170 cm biography: Gianni Celati (1936 - 2022), graduated in accounting and gets a place in the bank, but his true passion and attitude is for art and, in the spaces that work grants him, draws, paints and participates in competitions and exhibitions, activities that leads him to decide to devote himself entirely to art. He leaves the work and enrolled in the Istituto Superiore d'Arte Venturi in Modena and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna where he has Masters Guidi and Mastroianni as masters. In 1962 he moved to Rome: in those years rich in significant experiences and meetings such as De Chirico and Gentilini, he worked as a set designer at the Teatro dell'Opera and was hired in a study of advertising graphics. But the forced rhythms of the advertising world do not make the development of his art possible, so much so that he decides to accept a job as a teacher of art and abandon advertising. Since then he reconciled this profession to artistic activity, organizing personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad obtaining consensus of criticism and public. At the beginning of the 80s, he resumed the interrupted sculptural activity; In its exhibitions you can admire both the painter and the sculptor, in a harmonious compendium rich in different sculptural materials, paintings and graphic lines.
