A unique piece – Olympic trophy handcrafted by renowned sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga for Bertoni Milano.
The trophy consists of the planet Earth and wings adorned with the rings of the Olympic Games.
Silvio Gazzaniga was a renowned sculptor who, among other works, created the FIFA World Cup trophy, selected by the committee in April 1971. His designs also include the UEFA Cup trophy (1972), the UEFA Super Cup trophy (1973), and the Baseball World Cup trophy (2001).
This trophy was awarded to the winner of the CDI-W qualification, Swiss athlete Christine Stückelberger, with Gauguin de Lully CH, by IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch in 1989.
The 1988/89 World Cup season included a qualification event at Chalet-à-Gobet near Lausanne, Switzerland.
The bronze plaque bears a logo in French:
