Stunning ceramic figure of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, designed by renowned Austrian Secession artist Michael Powolny for Wiener Keramik (Model WK 160, circa 1908). Closely associated with the prestigious Wiener Werkstätte. The figure portrays Goethe in his iconic attire: rich brown glazed overcoat, striped trousers, and holding a top hat. He stands on a decorative green base with raised floral details. Beautiful deep, lustrous glaze. Highly decorative and collectible piece combining literary history with Viennese Secession design. Ideal for classic or contemporary interiors.
