Antique rolling shutter archive cabinet - Early 1900s
Valuable and functional office or archive furniture with vertical rolling shutter, made of solid oak wood, dating back to the early 20th century (early 1900s) and of proven Lombard manufacturing and origin.
The structure stands out for its solid and essential line, surmounted in the upper part by a characteristic open riser with slide-shaped side sides, ideal as a support or display surface. The front is entirely occupied by a large wooden sliding shutter that moves fluidly along the side guides; the upper strip of the roller shutter is equipped with its central hole for the brass lock and two contemporary loop handles, also in brass, arranged symmetrically to facilitate opening and closing the compartment. The interior of the piece of furniture, accessible by the total disappearance of the roller shutter in the base of the structure, is rationally organized into two symmetrical vertical compartments divided by a central partition, each of which houses sturdy shelves suitable for stowing folders, books or objects.
