Round coffee table with a mosaic inlaid top featuring small white marble tiles arranged in a radial pattern. Three-braced metal base. Designed by Heinz Lilientahl, Germany, 1960s. The circular top is the table's defining feature: it is covered with numerous small white marble tiles, arranged in a refined radial design, with a concentric pattern and a sunburst that draws the eye toward the center. The regular arrangement of the tiles creates a striking graphic, almost kinetic effect, typical of mid-century modern sensibility. The edge of the top is finished with a perimeter band of small geometric modules, while the lower structure features a central chromed metal column from which three radial supports extend, terminating in protective feet. The three-spoke base lends the table great stability while maintaining a light, sculptural appearance. The juxtaposition of natural stone mosaic, the brilliance of chromed metal, and the rigorous geometry of the top perfectly expresses the language of 1960s German design: functional, essential, yet characterized by a strong artistic component. Heinz Lilienthal (1927–2006) is known for his work in mosaics, glasswork, metalwork, and furniture design.
