Pair of wall lamps, designed in 1985 by Adam T. Tihany and Joseph Mancini for Foscarini and produced by Foscarini. This pair of Appliques has a highly geometric and playful design, and are entitled "Wassily on the wall" are inspired by the aesthetics of constructivism and Bauhaus, in particular the visual language of Wassily Kandinsky, from which also derives the name of the model (internal label). The composition recalls an abstract sculpture: a glossy turquoise sphere at the top, which acts as a bright element. Two cones, larger gray and rose where we find the light point. Both the sphere and the cones are in Murano glass, while the circular structure is in red painted metal. Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944) was a painter and theorist of Russian art, recognized as one of the fathers of abstract art. His contribution has profoundly influenced the art of the twentieth century, both from a pictorial and theoretical point of view.
