This extraordinary vase belongs to the famous “Feathered” series by Barovier & Toso, created around 1942 under the artistic direction of Ercole Barovier, among the highest expressions of the material and light research of Murano glass of the twentieth century.
The cylindrical body, of monumental proportions, is entirely modeled in thick transparent crystal, embellished with complex hand-shaped relief applications, which develop in an ascending and fluid movement along the surface, evoking light feathers or plant fronds, hence the name of the series.
The result is a masterful balance between technique and poetry, where the absolute transparency of the glass amplifies the light and shadows, transforming the volume into an ethereal sculpture.
The “Feathered” represents one of the pinnacles of Ercole Barovier's production, in which the Murano glass tradition meets the modernity of artistic language, with results of rare elegance and plastic force.
Signed diamond under the base, the vase is in excellent condition, with minimal signs of age consistent with age.
A collector's item of exceptional rarity and historical value, a symbol of the technical and formal genius of the Barovier & Toso kiln, among the oldest and most prestigious glassworks in the world.
