Carlo Nason was born in Murano in 1935 into a family of master glassmakers. From a young age he learned the art of glass in the family furnace. In the 1950s he began creating glass vases and objects, which are now also exhibited in museums such as the Corning Museum of Glass. Between 1965 and 1980 he worked mainly with the A.V. glassworks. Mazzega, designing lamps and objects that have become very famous. He later collaborated with other Murano companies, such as Vistosi, Moretti, Seguso and Leucos. His style is simple and modern: he loves clean shapes and opaline glass which diffuses light in an elegant way. His works can be found in important museums such as the MoMA in New York.
