Porcelain jewelry box/bonbon holder from the French manufacturing district of Limoges.
The object dates back to the 1950s/1960s. On the bottom, we find the Vieu Limoges mark, indicating that the piece is inspired by objects produced in Limoges in antiquity. In fact, the jewelry box for sale is in Baroque style and likely harks back to an 18th-century object.
The furnace that produced it unfortunately remains anonymous.
The object is well-made, of very high quality, and is entirely hand-decorated with floral motifs on a black background and adorned with pure gold trim.
On the bottom, we find the label of the jewelry shop "Achille Sghedoni" of Modena, which sold it in the 1960s (the telephone number does not include the area code, which came into force in Italy in 1970, so the object dates back to before that year).
