Pair of antique grocery vases dating back to the 1940s/50s.
These objects were often used in grocery stores or coffee shops where they were used to contain sweets, sugar cubes or spices that were sold in bulk to consumers.
The caps are made of aluminum and bear the patent number 32878 which refers to the type of closure, thanks to a rubber ring gasket that was inserted into the cap in the appropriate housing, the caps hermetically closed the jars, thus not allowing humidity to enter and keeping the food healthy.
The vases are blown manually and ribbed, small air occlusions and small imperfections are evidence of the craftsmanship of these objects.
The ribbed decoration was used to make the vases elegant and is a testimony to how Beauty, in past eras, was seen as a must in everything!
Today these vases can bring a touch of class and elegance to your homes, they can be used in the kitchen as containers for pasta, biscuits or food in general, or they can be used as simple ornaments, their elegance adapts to any use and any environment.
