Original burgundy velvet Cassina Duc pouf, 1970s design by Mario Bellini
Mario Bellini's 1976 Duc project is based on the combination of cutting-edge materials and innovative structural technology. The characteristic structure of panels assembled with zippers was a revolutionary solution for its time.
The pouf consists of a base of assembled panels on which a removable cushion rests. Both the panels and the cushion are padded and covered in smooth burgundy/aubergine velvet with camel/gold trim. The panels are held together by zippers, a feature of the entire Duc line.
The base rests on four adjustable plastic feet.
Cassina, Meda adhesive label present.
The pouf is in very good condition for its age, solid and stable. Excellent padding and upholstery. The leather side finishes at the zippers are very worn (see photos), but still functional. Excellent as a side table or additional seat, in a rare and elegant color.
