Elegant antique French bronze sculpture representing “La Nuit” (The Night), depicted as a graceful female figure seated upon a crescent moon surrounded by stars and flowing clouds. The figure is finely modeled with delicate movement and expressive detail typical of 19th-century French decorative sculpture. The base bears an inscription related to La Nuit, reinforcing the allegorical theme of night and celestial symbolism. The sculpture displays a warm, naturally aged patina developed over time, enhancing its depth and character. A refined and atmospheric piece of French antique art, ideal for collectors of 19th-century bronzes and decorative sculptures. Provenance: Formerly in a European private collection; acquired 1930s on the Vienna antiques market (Austria). The object has been in Europe for several decades.
