Oil on canvas.
The painting is inspired by Titian's famous painting, known as \"Homage to Venus\", which was widely copied and reinterpreted during the 17th century.
In the version presented here there is no reference to Venus, but rather it seems like a celebration of Spring: a large group of Cupids invades the countryside lush with vegetation and flowers, weaving wreaths of flowers and filling baskets and basins, petting the animals (goats, sheep, dogs) and, in the background, fishing on the river.
The painting has previously undergone restoration and relining.
It is presented in an adapted antique frame.
