Elegant decorative glazed ceramic vase, marked Royal Satsuma, with a tall baluster-shaped body, an elongated neck and a sculptural, wavy rim.
The body is finely painted with a figurative scene set within a traditional Japanese interior, populated by figures dressed in richly decorated ceremonial robes. The composition is framed by elaborate geometric, floral and fabric-inspired motifs reminiscent of precious oriental brocades.
The surface has a slightly cracked ivory background, enriched with shades of green, red, blue and ocher, along with extensive golden reflections and applied decorations. Particularly refined are the details in relief executed in the moriage technique, visible on the garments, on the edges and on the ornamental motifs.
The vase is presented on a carved and lacquered wooden stand in a rich mahogany tone, with elegant flowing lines that enhance its decorative presence. A surprising and sophisticated object, ideal for classic, eclectic or oriental-inspired interiors.
