The restoration required the complete disassembly of the chair, the careful refinishing of the wooden frame, and the complete reconstruction of the upholstery. It has been newly upholstered in a premium antique pink velvet, selected for its exceptional quality, durability, and elegant appearance. The restoration was expertly completed by a highly skilled Florentine craftsman, whose attention to detail and dedication have restored this remarkable piece to its original beauty while preserving its authentic character and craftsmanship. Art Deco was an influential decorative and artistic movement that flourished throughout Europe and the United States during the 1920s and 1930s. The name derives from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, an event that marked the emergence of a new aesthetic language that would shape architecture, decorative arts, industrial design, fashion, and the visual arts.
