A stunning and highly decorative Italian vintage chandelier, featuring a substantial structure crafted from solid brushed and polished brass. Illumination is provided by six elegant opaline glass globes, each positioned at the end of an angled arm that radiates harmoniously from the central hub. The carefully balanced arrangement of the light sources ensures bright, even, and refined illumination, enhancing any interior with timeless elegance. The ceiling suspension system is composed of three sturdy cylindrical brass rods, each hollowed to discreetly accommodate the electrical wiring. Extending from the central connector, these rods converge into an upper ring, from which a fourth tubular brass rod rises to the ceiling canopy, concealing the wiring and providing a secure electrical connection. This sophisticated engineering not only ensures exceptional structural stability but also contributes to the fixture's clean, balanced, and distinctly architectural appearance. This chandelier was handcrafted between 1960 and 1965 in an artisan workshop in Milan and faithfully embodies the celebrated Stilnovo design aesthetic. It is an authentic example of fine Italian craftsmanship, entirely made in Italy. During the 1950s and 1960s, numerous workshops and small manufacturers throughout Lombardy drew inspiration from Stilnovo, the renowned Milanese lighting company, producing brass and opaline glass chandeliers that perfectly combined elegance, functionality, and technical innovation. During these decades, Milan and the surrounding region became the epicenter of Italian design, internationally recognized for creating lighting fixtures distinguished by exceptional craftsmanship, refined proportions, and a modern aesthetic that remains remarkably timeless. Founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, Stilnovo became one of the most influential names in the history of Italian lighting design. From the post-war reconstruction through Italy's economic boom, the company established itself as a pioneering center of creativity and innovation, introducing groundbreaking lighting solutions that helped define the design language of the era. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Stilnovo gained international acclaim for producing lighting fixtures with bold, forward-thinking forms. Many creations developed by the company's in-house Design Studio are now regarded as true icons of Mid-Century Italian design and continue to be highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts around the world. This chandelier has undergone a meticulous professional restoration. The entire fixture was carefully disassembled, and every individual component was restored with the utmost attention to detail.
