Item description

Description: Antique Louis XIV Sicilian chest of drawers in walnut burl with rosewood inserts, dating back to the mid-18th century. The walnut burl surface plays on the grain and the contrasting chiaroscuro of the various inlays. The decoration is typical of 18th-century Sicily, with the classic contrasting insert and gilded bronze escutcheons and handles. The two corners and the top are highlighted by elegant end-to-end wood borders. The two-drawer front is accentuated by a beautiful pattern that is also repeated on the sides. The two cabriolet feet end in a plinth and are connected by a mixtilinear apron. General Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using the traditional shellac and alcohol hand-applied method. Origin: Sicily, 18th century. Dimensions: 100x46 H 87 cm. Document: Certificate of Authenticity. Assistance: We are at your disposal for further clarification or photographic details. Shipping: Throughout Italy, Europe, and the rest of the world at very reasonable prices, with maximum security and tracking. Shipping will be arranged privately and will not be expensive. We wish you a good day. Borrelli Antiques.
