The pictorial research of Nevio Bedeschi, originally from Faenza, while essentially tied to figurative canons, proposes an expressive language rich in symbolism and transfigurative elements of visible reality, relating it to other scenarios, sometimes drawn from history, sometimes from contemporary news, often linked to social issues.
In this work, which the artist himself considers a "hypothesis," Bedeschi draws on a masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci, the Virgin of the Rocks, to evoke a landscape of rocks and a snow-covered glimpse of a village in a mountain valley, which he identifies as Bormio, using a quote from Leonardo's Codex Atlanticus: "At the head of the Valtolina are the mountains of Bormi, terrible and always full of snow...".
