A pair of Italian wall lamps from the late 1960s, crafted from natural onyx and opaline glass. Each sconce features a curved central opaline glass diffuser, flanked by two sculptural onyx elements that create an elegant contrast between the translucency of the stone and the smooth surface of the white glass.
The minimalist geometric composition recalls the refined language of Italian Midcentury Modern lighting, while the veining and natural color variations of the onyx give each lamp its own individual character.
The back features a period label referring to Pietrasanta, Tuscany, a town historically linked to the artistic craftsmanship of marble and stone. This element adds documentary interest to the piece and is consistent with the quality of the onyx elements. Municipality of Pietrasanta
Both the onyx parts and the opaline glass diffusers are intact. Each lamp uses an E14 bulb and is wired for use in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Dimensions for each lamp: height 26 cm, width 18 cm, depth 6 cm.
