Title: Alesa O I Segni Del Vento. 1982
The work of Ignazio Moncada (Palermo, 1932 - Milan, 2012) has pervaded Italian art of the second half of the twentieth century, privileging the feeling of color. A pioneer of pictorial research attentive to the legacy of the avant-garde, from Futurism to Constructivist-inspired abstraction, Mancada thus developed some of the principles of Italian abstract painting of the 1950s and 1960s - the geometric
component, the importance of the sign, the relationship between the work and space - in the direction of an original musicality of formal invention punctuated by color.
