Antique Dutch painting from the second half of the 19th century. Oil on canvas, first canvas, depicting an impressionist landscape with a farmer, with good pictorial quality. A small painting, suitable for antique dealers and collectors, signed lower left Louis Ludwig (signature difficult to read), attributable to the Dutch post-impressionist painter Henri Louis Ludwig (1856-1925), lacking authentication. The painting has a beautiful patina, and the painter is very skilled at making the Flemish landscape in the background clearly defined and recognizable with just a few strokes. The farmer wearing a beret, in the foreground, is in a waiting pose, leaning on a stick next to a tree (see photo). The painting shows some small signs of aging, still mounted on its original sturdy stretcher (see photo). Overall, the work is in good condition.
