The author of the work Jack Friling is a painter from Florence, but originally from Drammen, Norway. He completed his first studies in Oslo with Professor Bjarne Enghebreth (1946-47) and at the Academy of Fine Arts with Professor Per Kroch (1949-1952). Having moved to Florence, Italy, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts with Ottone Rosai from 1955 to 1957. He also studied painting and sculpture in France and Spain. His first solo exhibition in Florence was in 1954, at the "Numero" Gallery, where he reported incredible success and received an invitation for another solo show at "Long Warf Studios" in Boston for the following year. He subsequently participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, and in January 1959 he held a highly successful solo exhibition in Milan. Today his works are also in private collections in Italy and abroad.
