Elegant 1960s Danish armchair in teak, an expression of Grete Jalk's organic modernism, with original structure and refined proportions.
Iconic “118” model armchair designed by Grete Jalk for France & Daverkosen, Denmark, 1960s. The teak structure, with fluid and balanced lines, reflects the designer's approach, attentive to the dialogue between ergonomics and visual lightness. Grete Jalk, one of the few important female figures in post-war Danish design, collaborated with France & Daverkosen to define furnishings intended for high-quality production, always recognizable for their elegance and formal rigor. The seat and backrest retain the original structure; the cushions were redone and reupholstered in a very light beige fabric, respectful of the character of the time.
