Mid-century icon: “VP Globe”, sphere with two half-shells in PMMA with internal landscape of aluminum deflectors and chromed lower finish. Soft and enveloping light.
Iconic “VP Globe” suspension designed by Verner Panton in 1969 for Louis Poulsen (first production example, early 1970s). The transparent PMMA sphere is composed of two half-shells joined at the equator; Panton's luminous micro-landscape develops inside: a sequence of aluminum deflectors with rolled edges - blue at the top and red at the bottom - suspended by metal chains, with the polished hourglass reflective element in the centre. The E27 lamp holder is placed in the centre: the light is not direct but bounces off the deflectors, offering a soft and enveloping emission. Lower spherical terminal and chromed central stem complete the structure; vintage rosette and wiring. Original electrical system in working order.
Good condition. It may show signs of aging (slight micro-scratches on the sphere and minimal signs of use consistent with age). Pay attention to the photographs.
