Rare sideboard or servant in Napoleon III style of French origin (Paris) and from the mid-19th century. Characterized by a wavy and rounded structure, it has rich floral marqueterie inlays and gilded bronze decorations. Made of precious wood essences, it is veneered in "herringbone" bois de rose with numerous rosettes (47 between small and large) all finely inlaid with floral triumphs (except the two at the top on the geometric uprights) and surrounded by a triple thread and many of them on a black ebonized background which enhances the polychromy of the different essences and is typical of the first Napoleon III; those on the four largest vertical panels are particularly rich, additionally surrounded by chiseled gilded bronze profiles that follow the ovaloid shape. Embellished with other applications in chiseled gilded bronze that follow the curved lines of the furniture, it has a large floral bronze in the center of the low crossbar and two large bronzes at the top on the two uprights depicting female faces surrounded by floral motifs, in addition to the four bronzes on the four feet. The Servante is surmounted by a shaped marble top, typically recessed to follow the mixed-line line of the furniture.
The marble present in the shaped top of the furniture is the precious Macchiavecchia Marble, a polychrome limestone rock known for its rich color palette which includes shades of grey, brown, red and ocher on a light base and is very popular in luxury furniture and antiques.
The original lock is made of brass and is as high as the entire door. The interior has two shaped shelves which bring the support surfaces to three. The state of conservation is excellent, with no shortages or replacements, with the painting still very beautiful and the gilding of the bronzes intact.
The numerous photos certify the great quality of the furniture and this description of mine.
