Etching by Paolo Caronni depicting the \"Vision of Ezekiel\", based on the painting of the same name by Raphael executed between 1516 and 1518. The work shows the appearance of God in the sky as narrated in the biblical Book of Ezekiel, that is, surrounded by two putti and supported by the four figures of the tetramorph, which represent the symbols of the four evangelists: the angel of Saint Matthew, the lion of Saint Mark, the winged ox of San Luca and the eagle of San Giovanni. Below, a figure hit by a ray of light symbolizes Ezekiel. The engraving bears the signature of the engraver Paolo Caronni at the bottom right. In the center is the name of Vincenzo Raggio, a designer known for his skill in chiaroscuro rendering and in the detailed reproduction of Renaissance iconography. The etching is presented in a contemporary wooden frame from the 19th century, which shows slight drops in the gilding.
